New Nationwide Campaign Seeks to Stop Warrantless Use of License Plate Reader Cameras

The Institute for Justice (IJ) announced the launch of a nationwide campaign to push back against the arbitrary and unrestrained use of automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras in thousands of American communities.

Earlier this year, a federal judge ruled the lawsuit could move forward, saying that “a reasonable person could believe that society’s expectations [of privacy] are being violated by the Norfolk Flock system.”
